author feedback

Book development is private work by nature. It is creative, vulnerable, and often bound by confidentiality. Since many of our projects involve developmental editing or ghostwriting, we routinely sign non-disclosure agreements with our clients.
To honor those agreements, we’ve removed identifying details from the testimonials below. Still, the words remain true. These are the voices of authors who trusted us with their stories and chose to reflect on the experience of working together.

“LeAnn stepped in as a senior editor for one of our legacy publications during a period of transition, and her impact was immediate. She brought clarity, structure, and a thoughtful editorial eye to every piece she touched. Within a very short time, she had not only improved the quality of the content but also brought a renewed sense of cohesion to the entire publication.
What stood out most was her ability to balance big-picture editorial vision with deep attention to craft. She understands how to shape narrative structure, how to work with writers without overriding their voices, and how to make complex content more accessible without losing depth. Her instincts are sharp, her feedback is clear, and her standards are high in all the right ways.
LeAnn is a skilled, discerning editor with both the insight and the leadership to elevate any project she’s part of.”

“I’ve been writing for years and I knew the story I wanted to tell. I also knew something wasn’t landing. The structure was off, but I was too close to see it clearly. I didn’t go looking for an editor to hold my hand, but I knew I needed…something.
Enter LeAnn Rose.
What impressed me right away was her ability to see the full book. She understood what I was trying to do, where I was getting in my own way, and how I could bring the whole thing into focus without losing what mattered. Her feedback wasn’t just intelligent, it was precise and kept my voice. She pushed back where it counted, but she never imposed. I didn’t always agree with her at first, and that turned out to be one of the best parts. Her notes made me pause, reexamine, and in most cases, rewrite with a much clearer sense of purpose.
LeAnn’s editorial letter was one of the most useful pieces of feedback I’ve ever received. It helped me understand the manuscript, yes, but also how I write, what I default to, and where I tend to avoid risk. I left the process with a stronger novel and a better understanding of my own creative process.
If you care deeply about your work and want an editor who will meet you there, I highly recommend LeAnn Rose.”
